My Introduction

About Me
Dr. Dyne Eifertsen is a performer, educator, clinician, and composer. He has earned trombone performance degrees from Berklee College of Music in Boston, the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and the University of Washington in Seattle. Among his trombone teachers have been Phil Wilson, Tom Plsek, David Sporny, and Don Immel. Dr. Eiferstsen is the Director of the Jazz Studies program and the Music Department Chair at American River College and conducts several jazz combos along with the ARC Community and Studio Jazz Ensembles.
Me as a Teacher
I love music and express this through my trombone. My goal is to instill this passion in my students and guide them in acquiring the tools needed to be a creative musician. I am well-versed in classical and jazz and find great value in exploring various styles of music with my students. Every student is unique, and I tailor lessons to best fit their individual needs.
My Teaching Style
To play trombone at the desired level, solid fundamentals are key to success. Daily warm-ups and establishing a well-rounded routine will ensure technical growth and sharpen the tools needed for a musical performance. A focus on technical studies, etudes, solo repertoire, and improvisation will prepare the student for auditions and recitals.
