Me as a Teacher
I do not approach teaching from a set curriculum or set of single resources. Each student is a unique musician who requires both a customized approach and customized materials. I devise plans with a student centered approach that keys in on their interests, their learning style. their challenges, and their desired outcomes. My goal is to understand how that student learns and develop tools to ignite and engage them.
My Teaching Style
To be successful, an instructor MUST adapt to the student. Some want to learn classical music, while others are interested in Tylor Swift. Some are comfortable with learning to read music, while others are very much Aural musicians. It is essential that the instructor gather information about the student including their goals and aspirations. I make a point of meeting the student where they are. Thankfully, since I am classical trained as well as actively involved in contemporary music making, I most often can relate to anything the student brings to the table. Besides the instruments listed she also teaches MUSIC TECHNOLOGY-DAW COMPOSITION-DAW RECORDING.
