My Introduction

About Me
I am currently a graduate student of music theatre vocal pedagogy in Carthage College, and I am good at singing in various music theatre and contemporary commercial music styles. I love music and learning it without rest from childhood. I have learned piano since 5 years old, and took part in Chorus from 7.Those gave me solid basic skills of Music. I was a head teacher in a music theatre training institution before my graduate program. I systematically studied Estill voice teaching method in the first year of graduate school. I also took The ABRSM Teachers' Training Course on Piano Performing and Theory, and received a certificate from The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.
Me as a Teacher
I taught piano initiation, music theory, and solfeggio in my college stage. After my professional vocal training, I started teaching vocal music 5 years ago, focusing on musical theatre singing for children aged 4-13.In vocal teaching, I am more focused on systematically conducting scientific vocal music training for students from the anatomical point of view, teaching voice skills from respiration, phonation, registration, articulation and resonance, and further applying them to repertoire. In recent years, I have also incorporated the ABRSM musical Theatre grading repertoire into my teaching and have become very familiar with a large number of children's musical theatre repertoire.
My Teaching Style
For piano and voice teaching, I can teach both group and private lessons. For the special requirements of students, I will try my best to meet them. Before receiving a new student, I will understand the student's learning purpose with the student or guardian, make his teaching plan for this purpose, and reach an agreement with the client. For example, if students want to focus on grade examination, I will put more energy on repertoire practice in except the basic skills training. If the students are younger or just want to develop an interest in music, I will add more interesting design(like Orff, Dalcroze methods) to the class and pay more attention to protect the students' interest.
